The
significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking
with which we created them. The
farther behind I leave the past, the closer I am to forging my own character. Always
bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than
any one thing. Character
cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial
and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success
achieved. Great
spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. What
lies behind us, and what lies before us are small matters compared to
what lies within us. A
goal without a plan is just a wish. Break
the monotony. Do something strange and extravagant! Fame
is a vapor, popularity an accident, riches take wings. Only one thing
endures and that is character. Courage
is the price life exacts for granting peace! You
are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it
come true. You may have to work for it, however. "...the
next frontier is not only ahead of us, it's also inside of us."
To
get profit without risk, experience without danger, and reward without
work, is as impossible as it is to live without being born.
